The legal drinking age in Spain is 18 (eighteen) years old, but like many other European countries, this law is not particulary well enforced.
In addition, the region of Castile has supposedly lowered its minimum drinking age to 16 (sixteen) years old.
To generalise Spain on drinking and Spain drug laws, we are more concerned about the health and safety of users than we are of getting the users in trouble.
So, have fun, stay safe, and drink responsibly.

Why is everyone so intent on going to Spain to drink what they really aren´t legal to drink in most places? (Spain included)
Really! I have been legal to drink for a very long time, and I just never (even when I was 16) have been able to understand the draw of drinking!
Someone needs to explain this to me!
But no...no legal alcohol for you for another couple of years.
Not sure if you can get into clubs and NOT drink!

The answer from Pretty is wrong!! If you go to Gibraltar, you will not be served if you are under 18. I have worked in Gib for 17 years, and it is a part of Britain , and therefore abides by British Law. |

You have to be 18 to purchase alcohol and drink in bars or clubs anywhere in Europe.
I had lunch yesterday in Marbella. Lunch was great but the weather was lousy. |

I don't think the let you go in Clubs, you muss be 18 years old, yes, you can have a drink or by wine anywhere, the never ask you about your license.
Marbella is beautiful, wonderful people,wonderful food, wonderful wine.

If you are going to be in Marbella, you should head over to Gibraltar. I believe the legal drinking age is 16.
In Spain you have to be 18. You might be able to get away with it if you look Spanish and older than 16, but not very likely.
Please take it easy with the drinking!!! I understand that you are young and it is fun, but don't be stupid.
Marbella is a nice place to visit. At night it turns into a party place. Plenty of shopping, the beaches are nice & clean. Be sure to check out the Church of St. Mary. |
