Don't worry Valencia is a beautiful city, and it isn't as crazy as Barcelona or Madrid... And it's quite funny at night... But, please, be careful of your money / bag / cell phone in pubs and frequented streets...
PS. for the first answer, in Spain, we don't drive as monkeys, are you who cross the road where you cannot do that... and of course we drive in the right side of the road (as the rest of Europe and the world, everybody but you...) |

Survival tips? No not really, but it's just a nice city, a lot of shops, beautiful streets.....
If you park your car it's best you do it in a parking lot. ( I don't remember the name of the main square, where the main streets end up, but that's an interessting place to park, right in the centre) BUT: A lot of traffic jams!!!!!! You have to wait about 15 minutes before entering the parking lot.... It's better in the morning. |

Enjoy yourself Valencia is a beautiful city but yes lots of traffic so best to walk or use public transport then you can enjoy the views.

Valencia is fantastic, the nightlife, shops, bars, restaurants - get yourself down to the City of Arts and Sciences, take the tour bus from Cathedral Square to give yourself a feel of the place. Only 12 euros for 1 and a half hours but you see most of the City. Lots of tourist information offices, one also in Cathedral Square - Pla de la Reina - and also one at the main railway station. |

Enjoy yourself, there is no reason to dread such a nice trip. You will feel very different once you get there. Go on a small tour if you get a chance. It should be very nice. You'll see. Maybe you are scared or don't know what to expect. Think positive |

Yes, be very careful on the roads when crosisng the, dont forget the traffic comes the opposite direction and they drive like monkeys with no brains! I live here so I should know! |
