Im sending a deposit to spain but it has to be in euros, how do i make the cheque out?

Easy.

Go to your bank and tell the you want to make a transfer to an account in Spain. Obviously you'll have to tell them the acc.no., bank name, and name of the holder and tell them the amount you want to send in Euros. They will make the transfer from your account (there will be a charge) and the money should arrive in 1 or 2 days, depending on where you are, your bank, the other bank, and so on...

If you are sending a cheque, I would think you would have to have a Euro account at your bank in order to send out a Euro cheque. You can do bank transfers from one country to another, but obviously you would be charged, possibly at both ends, for this service. There is apparently a way to do this type of transaction through PayPal.

Go to your bank, they should be able to help you with this...your account is in whatever (Â£?) and you can't make a cheque out in any other denomination from it directly.

They should be able to make an electronic transfer or a money order, after exchanging your money. It will probably cost a small fee for the exchange, and they may charge you for the electronic transfer, what,
5Â£ or so?

You could estimate the current exchange rate and send that amount, but then the receiver will more then likely be charged for the exchange rate (and very often banks in Spain charge you for banking/cashing a cheque if it's not their bank).
Your bank could send a cheque in Euros to the sender, but you will probably alse be charged for this. Often an international bank transfer might be cheaper (and safer for you). Also, if you do go for the ceque option, make sure it has to be banked, and not just cashed. This also covers you in case of fraud (I'm assuming you don't know the person?!)

I would first make sure they will accept a cheque from out of the country. The issuer of the bank will actually have to determine the currency in which the cheque is issued. I am American for example. Any checks I write are in U.S. Dollars only. I cannot write a check for Euros with one of my checks. They may, however, be willing to accept a check I write for the dollar amound equivalent to the euro amount.

Could you consider sending them travelers cheques instead? They are usually universal.
