As long as none of it contains liquids you should be okay. Check the latest security message on the Gatwick Airport homepage:

Hi

With the current restrictions in place it is still acceptable to take food onto a plane however the issue will be getting it through security. As security are currently confiscating the like of mints, cigarettes, lipstick, etc. I would be very surprised if food would be allowed. I would advise you not to take you own food if you are travelling during the current restrictions. Instead buy sandwiches in the departure lounge.
I have travelled twice out of Gatwick in the last 7 days.

yes you can take your own food, although any meat or dairy products should be consumed on, or left on plane,as you are not supposed to take them into spain cos of mad cow restrictions!

if buying at airport, the best place to get food is in boots, where you can get a "meal deal",which is a sandwich, packet of crisps and drink, for less money than you would normally pay just for sandwich on plane or other airport shops.although at present they may make you finish drink before boarding plane!

I always do on a plane and have never had a problem with either the airline or customs.
