In your opinion what is the best part of Spain to holiday?

Well I am biased because I live here in Spain. A little place called Javea (Xabia), on the Costa Blanca. It's known as 'The Jewel in the Crown' and according to World Health Organisation, Javea is the most healthiest climate in the world. It truly is a wonderful place for holidays. Benidorm is only 40 minutes drive away or you can catch the local train or bus. You can have all the hustle and bustle of Benidorm, but come back to the tranquil setting of Javea. The beach has soft sand and the sea is a clear turquoise. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach front. We also have the port area here and the local fishermen supplies fresh caught fish to the restaurants. There is a local market where you can get all those little gifts. The people are friendly and there is lots to do and see. If you want to take a trip, Guadalest, about an hour and a quarter away, inland is a most fascinating place to visit. Most people who visit come back again and again. Hope to see you here one day.

Majorca is my particular favourite. The Cala D'or area is great. Nice beaches and varying types of resort. The peace and beauty of Cala Mondrago and the bustle of the nearby 'tourist' resorts. I like independant hotels there, as you tend to meet more nationalities rather than "Brits on th P***" crowd. If Clubbing and Sun is your scene then the areas around the capital (Magaluf Palma Nova etc.) will suit you more. Short drives will take you into the Mountains and their stunning views. Majorca is Spain in Miniature really. The Costa Del Sol/Andalucia is another great area to soak up the Spanish atmos. Again you have both quiet places and the busy tourist hotspots. The Sierra Nevada is nearby so in the winter you can go skiing and then have tea on your terrace overlooking the Med withou freezing your **** off!!! Nerja has lots of great restaurants and the nearby village of Frigiliana is a must see. Beautiful caves are nearby. try the costa calida.......................it has the most warm days yearlly, the beaches are great, the people are friendly and its not gone completelly english like the costa del sol and the costa blanca...............................plu... its still super cheap there.!

The Costa del Sol has alot to offer. The beaches are superb, the sea warm, and the restarants and night life excellent. If you want to explore the countryside than not far from the beaches you have all the lovely "pueblos blancos" to visit.

To pin it down a bit more I think Estepona is a good choice, not quite so touristy as Fuengirloa and Torremolinos, and in a good position to head inland from.

I like the Costa Dorada for its variety overlooked by the mountains of the Pyrenees,the historic city of Barcelona,the lively Salou and the more peaceful Cambrils,all this and sunshine throughout the summer.

Costa Adeje, Tenerife, hard to beat. Black sand beaches the only drawback. Hotel Rui Adeje 1st class. Consider Lanzarote, golden sands on the south side at Porto Del Carmen. Have a look at 'tripadvisor.com' to get ideas from real people who have travelled to the resorts. There are other comparison sites available on the www. An hour spent researching will pay dividends. No Travel Agent speak. Some of the islands are windy and the north and south of the islands in the Canaries are totally different. The med is okay, but a bit polluted. Mainland Spain is very expensive compared to the Canaries, which are duty free. If you like Greece, Paliocastritsa on Corfu has the beach and a hotel right on the beach. Check out the beaches on Google Earth. Have fun.

Barcelona or gran canaria but in my opinion go to crete island off greece or try outside europe. pretty cheap to go to south america these days and the euro/pound is really good there enjoy where ever u go

If you want sun and gold and can afford it: MÃ¡laga / Marbella
The same, but cheaper: Alicante / Murcia
For culture (not so good weather): Barcelona or Madrid
To try something different (weather like in England, but beatiful places): Oviedo, San Sebastian, Santiago
Gastronomy: Anywhere, but start in Sevilla

I travelled to Northern Spain a couple of years ago and it was really pretty with deserted beaches and beautiful villages. Santillana del Mar, Santander and the Picos de Europa Mountainous area all offered lovely scenery but this is more of an exploring holiday so you would need a car to get around.
The sea would be more likely to be warmer on the Mediterranean East coast though. Salou on the Costa Dorada was very lively but had a beautiful beach and lots of bars and restaurants. You can also visit the Port Aventura theme park if you fancy some thrills and spills on the roller coasters. You can also go on excursions from Salou to visit Barcelona which is a beautiful city and very easy to explore via the bus circuits. The buses leave from a central point and do 2 different circuits and you can hop on and off at the different points of interest. Very reasonably priced too.
Wherever you go I am sure you will have a fab time. It is a country of many contrasts

Benidorm all the way, going in the summer and have been 4 times previousley. Got it all bars, clubs, restaraunts, beutiful beache's and fun for all ages. Get over there we will have a bottle of san miguel.
