Barcelona belongs to Cataluña, and their regional lagnuage is "catalán."
Pertenece a la región de catalua y el idioma es catalán.
Este lugar es famoso por la artitectura (entre otras cosas)... yo te recomiendo que busques "GaudÃ" en Wikipedia.
Architecture... "Gaudi" and "Sagrada Familia" come to mind.
Rick Steves's books are for travelers but they're loaded with hisorical info, look at his website.

And, if YOU need to write a report in Spanish, aren't YOU supposed to do that?
