The question is about CHECKED luggage, NOT what one can take on the plane. You may take canned foods into most countries. I don't understand what you want to bring...empty cans? noodles? why do you need to bring food into Spain?

Depends on where you're going and what you're taking. Some countries have bans on the import of certain foods. If you try to take something illegally in your checked baggage it will be confiscated.
Why do you need to take stuff anyway. Europe has beautiful food, there's no need to bring anything with you.
