It's very easy provided you can cope with all the bureaucracy and red tape. It may be difficult to find work here. If you stay longer than 183 days in Spain you are technically a resident. That possibly means paying your taxes here. If you do it right you should notify the NHS because officially you will have to make your own arrangements in Spain. I'm British & a resident and I can't use the NHS in the UK even though I still pay some taxes there. |

got to agree with last post. It's easy to get there, but unemployment is high, the exchange rate poor and fewer and fewer tourists so less jobs for english speaking people.
It's a global recession, any move, international or otherwise, is going to be real hard right now. Just keep the jobs you have and hold fast for a while. |

Probably not your best idea in this financial climate. British Bars do employ British to work for them, but most of the British holidays are not being taken in Spain because of the currency problems. People are going outside the EEC.
You could be offered jobs like selling time share on a commission only basis, this is as low as you can get, all the holiday reps advise holiday makers to give time share a wide berth, quite rightly.
Unemployment in Spain is going to be nearly 50% this Summer and could get even worse. Their tourist industry will probably be the hardest hit with the recession.

if you are going to a very english place like benidorm, then you will prob find jobs easily, there are many english bars there, but lots of other places like malaga, torre del mar etc is a lot harder as you usually have to be fluent in spanish, you will need an NIE number which is equivalent to our our NI number, and to get one you have to have a spanish address |

Keep in mind that there are over 3 million people in Spain looking for work. You are going to have a tough go of it. Your plan sounds logical...just have a great holiday, and try to find something, but if you don't, you haven't lost your home or job at home.
Much sounder than dropping everything and winding up with nothing.
Good luck. If it works out, think of the adventures you'll have.
Just...for a Brit (you use "Holiday" so I assume you're British) tons easier than anyone NOT EU, but still, gonna be tough or lucky. |

I just moved to Spain when i was 16 years old lol
i lived there for 3 and a half years!
in some cases you will need to apply for a Residents certificate or card and you will have to go to the local aurthorities for this, this will also able you to work in Spain with no problems.
Apart from that it's simple. |

If you are from UK then you just move, as they are part of the EU but you will need lots of money as unemployment is very high in spain and with the £ to the euro things are very expensive. When I was there in September it was almost £5 for a pint of beer, there is thousands of young people from the UK going to spain to look for pub work but there is no work there for the spanish folk. |
