The historic city of Toledo is famous for sword and amour making. If you are interested in this, it is definatly a place you should visit. Replica swords used in a lot of films such as lord of the rings are made by companies from Toledo.
If you buy a sword in Toledo, you could arrange for the shop to post it to your home address to avoid problems fitting it in your suitcase - they are normally happy to do this for larger items.

You can probably buy such a thing just about anyplace they sell swords. Check out the nearest Renaissance Faire during the summer.
If you want to know the best place in Spain to pick up such a thing...go to Toledo. You can probably find them in a number of places, in Spain as well, but there are tons of sword shops in Toledo, and you can have your pick from the most expensive, really accurate replicas, all the way to little letter opener types that are made to look like them, to even smaller ones that are just to put on a small shelf. |
