Is it too busy in San Antonio for a family?

Fancy Ibiza, and got a good deal for San Antonio hotel Riviera. Looks good but someone told me it will be too busy for a family. We are 2 adults and 1 child aged 10

Depends what kind of family you are.
I think that if you're laid back, enjoy a bit of life then you'll be fine.

I would say that San An Bay is perfectly fine for a family as long as you don't ventre a couple of km up the road into the west end of San An where all the 18-30's hang around it'll be fine. San An Bay attracts couples & families even in high season. There will be youngsters around especially July/August but I would say you'd be fine.

Heres some reviews of your hotel: Majority have no problems. Its a basic standard but if you've gotten a good deal- try it but only after reading what people have to say them deciding.

All the best!

The Hotel Riviera is round the bay of San Antonio and is a nice hotel. They have a kids club and family entertainment there. You are out of the way of the main clubs and bars but there are plenty of places to go out and eat depending upon what you like. There are some nice beaches around there and you are right on the bus routes for Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Cala Tarida (amoungst others).

The bay area of San Antonio is mainly families and there are loads of touristy shops around there. Also they are currently finishing the roads so that the promenade goes right the way from Port Des Torrents to Cala Gracio.

San Antonio during the day is fine and you can get a boat across the bay into town just down from where the Hotel Riviera is, it's about 2€ per person and a pleasant trip. If you go across in the early evening they have stalls on the sea front that sell jewellery and leather work and things like that.

Ibiza and San Antonio in particular get bad press for a problem which is restricted to about four streets, known as the 'west end' and basically far too many bars with cheap drinks in one place. There is a lot more to Ibiza than that one area.

If you do decide to holiday here make sure that you visit Ibiza town - the city walls are spectacular as is the view from them. If you like shopping go to one of the Hippy Markets and beach wise go to Cala Moli if you can. Finally make sure you eat in Bar Minimal (just down from the hotel) at least once as it is one of the friendliest Spanish bars in the bay.

Hope you have a really nice time!
