I don't think any no smoking rules are enforced in Spain. On my first trip to Spain people were smoking while standing in the customs line at the airport.
Smoking is the national pass time in Spain and lots of people smoke in small bars. |

No, bars and cafes are allowed to decide if they want to be smoking or non smoking but you will know if its smoking as there will be a sign on the door.
You will find that 99% of bars are smoking. |

In some, in 2006 they brought in a ruling that allowed each bar/cafe owner to choose smoking or non smoking unless their premises were largest enough to accomodate both....
Just look for the signs "No Fumar" |

I live in Spain & in most small bars you are allowed to smoke, if you aren't it will have a sign up onthe door saying: NO FUMAR: Don't smoke.
But i wouldn't worry in Spain you can smoke anywere |

Up to 100 square meters guest space it is up to the owner to allow it or not. Most small bars are smokers. They always have a sign on the door. In case you don´t see it, look if there are ashtrays on the bar. |

You won't have a problem if you want a smoke. Most of the bars will allow it, customers are scarce.
And, the cigarettes are still only €3 for 20. |

The owner chooses if his / her bar is to be designated a smoking or a non smoking bar and they have to display notices accordingly.
It works well because customers get to choose the environment they are in. |

no it has to be big enough (certain size) according to the law to have a smoking licence. |

Many bar owners allow you to smoke. The same goes for restaurants. However, smoking is not allowed everywhere. Many shops, offices, banks, airports, there is no smoking (no fumar). |
