I live here on the costa blanca, you woudl be best off coming out for a couple of weeks at leastjust to see the different areas and ways of life to see what you think as each person is different, I love it and would not go back to the uk.
It is not easy though as regards to work etc, you must think carefully about everything the area you want to be in if you would rent first (which i would advise) If you have children how old are they the younger the better due to the schooling if in the teens they will find it more difficult and may need private education approx 5 thousand per year plus books equipment exam fees and uniform etc. If you do not speak spanish you may find it hard to find work so think carefully what you intend to do and what the costs are to set up a legal company or self employment, There is work in areas with property sales although this is slowing down and not guarenteed to last forever. Come over hire a car and speak to people living here in the different areas. |

I'm spanish, i live in Madrid and is a good place, maybe a little stressful, like the big cities, but in general is good, there are a lot of cutural places, many pubs, bars or discos for the night, practically you can found anything.
Then in the little cities or in the villages the live is more quiet but is interesting too. |

O no. It's the world second popular tourist destination (after France) and every year an approximate 80.000 northern europeans and another 50.000 latin americans move to Spain, and just one airport can receive like 5 million visitors in one summer, etc, because it's such an un-nice country to live in.
Are you loco ? There is nothing like Spain, not even Italy or France. |

Yes! I lived there for 4 months with a host family and I loved every minute of it! The culture is definitely different in many ways but the people are great and very friendly. The Spanish are very family centered - thats part of the reason they have siesta. They are also great eaters! Spanish food is great! I loved the amount of walking everyone did because they didn't rely on cars. Also, no one goes to bed until after 11 because they are ALL in the streets meeting at local cafes or just out for a walk. Now that I have been home for over a year, I want to go back!! |

It depends on what you like about where you live. If you like scenery the YES DEFIANATELY! If you like shopping, YES DEFIANTELY! If you like Spain's culture YES DEFIANATELY (duh). I would do research on some of your fav. topics about spain and see if it fits you "needs" and maybe a couple [ or 2 ;-) ] "wants". |
