Is there a romantic restaurant in Spain?

Of course there are. What cities are you going to be in? I can point you toward a couple.

Casa Botín, in Madrid, kinda more a tapas restaurant, but the fact that it´s one of the oldest in the world (I dispute its reputation as THE oldest, but still...) makes it really neat to go to. It's on the Toledo street side of the Plaza Mayor, outside walls, and below the Plaza.

El Rinconcillo, in Sevilla, near the Iglesia Santa Catalina, IS the oldest in the world, but I think that designation is owing to its being a different sort of establishment. Looked like a restaurant to me...I think it´s designated as a Bar/restuarant.

Also La Isla, c/Arfe, in Sevilla, behind the main Post Office. Really nice, expensive place.

Almost anything inside the Plaza Mayor is nice, they have these HUGE patios into the Plaza, and you sit and people watch while you eat. (weather permitting) Most people find that romantic.

Same can be said of the terrace places along the Ramblas in Barcelona.

Wherever you go, just ask the people at the hotel. They´re usually pretty knowledgeable.

I know there are more romantic places, I usually travel pretty much on a budget, so I don't eat at very expensive places.

Want to know my idea for the MOST romantic thing to do?
Go to the market, pick out a couple of meats, cheeses, some olives, and fruit, maybe some chocolate. Pick up a bottle or two of wine, and brown bag it to the park, find a nice secluded spot, and hang out for a few hours. Parks: Sevilla, María Luisa - we did it by the Bécquer monument. (he was this incredibly romantic poet), Madrid: Retiro. Someplace near the boating lake or over by the Palacio de Cristal.

Barcelona...don´t know, maybe at Montjuic, there were a few quiet little spots, but seemed like a lot was under construction last summer, marring the beauty of the place. maybe up by the Castel at the summit. Or Parc Güell.

Spain is a romantic country!!!!

Jorm
It's subjective, hon. For example, if your significant other takes you to a taco stand, however, you might find it "romantic" because you are with your loved one in such a special occasion. On the other hand, you could visit the most "romantic" restaurant as claimed by other people, but you might not feel it.

I live in Spain and there are romantic restaurants everywhere especially here in Andalucia. There is also romantic food and romantic wine. The air is filled with romance. Come and taste it sometime, you won´t be disappointed.

Future Marine
yeah

they've got a mcdonalds

M L
No. None. I've tried them all. No romance to be had. Try Italy.
