I am a pakistani & got schengen visa to study in sweden there i could not find any job to run my expenses then i moved to spain, i have lost my passport, I want to work here i know i am illegal, tell me plz what should i do to get proper papers because i can go to my country because circumstances of my home in pakistan are very bad so i want to stay here and want to do work becoz i my parents are so poor.
Plz tell me the whole procedure to become legal.
i am also frightend that wether the spanish authorties will deport me or will catch me in prison?????????

I can't answer all your questions exactly, but obviously you need a new passport and replacement visa, then you are in the schengen zone legally. You can get a replacement visa if your original visa has not expired. Report your loss to the police, visit your embassy and you will get temporary documents. It is very very difficult to become legal in Spain and you would need to return to Pakistan as Spain will only issue a visa in your home country in person.
Having said that, there are many people in Spain illegally. If you want to stay in Spain forever, then it is possible to do so illegally, just don't leave. It is unlikely you would be deported or imprisoned. |

You will get deported if you are here illegally, the authorities don't take kindly to folks with NO papers here, its not like the UK they let all and sundry in, regardless of paperwork!!!
First my I suggest you get a new passport from your own country, then residence papers, then a job, pay into the system, YOU keep it legal YOU will have NO trouble!!!! |

Student visas and work visas are different, but you seem to already know that you aren't legal to work.
Passport...get to the nearest Pakistani Consulate (or the Embassy, which should be in Madrid) and get advice there.
You WILL be considered an illegal if you get a job, and they probably will deport you (the US government would) with some sort of no return policy for some length of time. Jobs are difficult EVERYWHERE right now (as in, we are almost all dropping down to the same level as your people, anyway, so it might not be much better, anyway).
I would definitely check with the consulate. That's where you will get your best information...tell them that your passport was lost/stolen,and they will at the very least, help you replace that. That's part of what they are there for. They might even be able to give you legal work, right there, where you are a citizen. Who knows? It's worth a shot, anyway. |
