You can claim off your insurance, but only if you went to the police and told them that you lost it within 24/48 hours (not sure, depends on insurance company) You'll need a reference number or a statement off the police before you can claim, so if you're already home its too late i'm afraid. Try ringing the bus company, if you can't find their number as your hotel and they'll be able to help you.
