Hello there Ace Auntie.
Don't you just wish sometimes that people would actually answer your question?
Lanzarote is an excellent choice for a holiday in October. The weather will be lovely then so no worries there.
As for a good 4 star all inclusive, there are a few to chose from, but you should never book anything without checking out the reviews from previous customers.
I find that the very best thing to do is simply type into the hotel name and the word "review" into google and all the information is there for you.
So... where should you be looking at.. I used to reccommend The Occidental Oasis in Teguise and The Rubicon Palace in Playa Blanca. I never had a bad holiday at either of those two hotels but I checked the most recent reviews for you and they were not good.
In recent years there has been a lot on development in Lanzarote and a lot of the newer accomodation is in aparthotels which to offer all inclusive. Most of those are 3 star at best but they are being promoted by tour operators as 4 star so be very careful.
You sound as though you may be the looking for something quite decent and I think you may like The Iberostar Papagayo resort in Playa Blanca. Its a lovey resort and the Iberostar is one of the newer hotels. The reviews are decent enough... here is an example for you..
"My wife and myself spent one week h/b with our daughter and her friend ( 15 &14 ) in a one bedroomed apartment in sept and it was great.
Accom:
We had a one bedroomed apartment which was meant for four adults but it is only suitable for two adults and two young kids. Two bedroomed apartment would be a must for four adults. it was spotless and was kept in that way all week by the maid. Towels were changed daily with bedding being changed three times in the week. Great servce. 9/10
Pools:
The hotel has two pools, one larger pool area for the hotel rooms and a smaller but beautiful pool for the apartments which is by far the better pool if you want the quiet life. Both pool areas were kept to a very high clean standard. 9/10
Food:
We stayed on a half board basis which was great value and would advise to go all inclusive. The standard of the food was first class to say the least, with a fantastic choice. Spoilt really. 10/10
Entertainment:
This was not that good but they did try and we did enjoy the shows. These people try their best and are worth respect. 7/10
Staff:
Staff at the hotel were great apart from the odd one and we found them very helpful with everything. 8/10
The Hotel:
The hotel is fab and kept to a very high standard and spotless. This was our first time in a Iberostar hotel and i can say that both our holidays next year will be in a Iberostar without a doubt. The location is quiet and i would say the hotel is more suited to adults rather than families. The local marina is a lovely 15 minute easy walk from the hotel and is stunning and very posh. The girls loved the shops as did my wife Karen when she found the designer shops and to my horror bount a new bag. I must admit the prices were very good. Playa Blanca is only a max 4 euros by taxi and has more shops and night life. 9/10
All in all this is truely a great hotel and is great value h/b or all/inc. My wife and i will return some time in the next year or two. "
To be perfectly honest, I did find one or two negative comments, but nothing like as many for this hotel compared to some of the others.
I'm not sure whats happened to Lanzarote accomodation recently, there do seem to be a lot of complaints- either that or people just complain about the littlest things these days.
The thing about Iberostar is that they are considered a quality brand and you should be ok there.
I also like the Beatriz hotels, (Beatriz Costa & Spa and Beatriz Playa) but they don't offer all inclusive. The DreamPlace Gran Castillo looks beautiful as does The Princess Yaiza but again, no all inclusive.
Both of the Gran Melia hotels on the island are excellent and if I were going myslef, I think thats where I could stay. They are expensive, but supposedly worth it.
I hope you have a lovely holiday whatever you decide- all the best! |

Lanzarote is definitely worth a visit, I've been there a couple of times as a meeting planner, last time I stayed at the Hesperia Lanzarote (5*) absolutely great!
Gran Meliá Salinas (5*) is also very good as well as the other Meliá hotel: Gran Meliá Volcán Lanzarote (5*)
As per the temperature...it's warm all year round but as weather is so crazy lately you never know but it should be warm.
Enjoy it! |
