The weather will be fantastic so during the day you can hit any of the many well appointed beaches.

Alternatively hire a car and explore, the area is a tourist destination and the provided just about everything you can think of for entertainment.

There are lots of bars and restaurants. You have a choice from the most basic of cafes to very exclusive restaurants.

Make sure you visit Old town and Plaza de los Narangos, Orange Square in the evening, that's a popular evening destination.

Marbella is like any cosmopolitan city, you pay more than you would outside the city so expect city prices. If you travel out of the city prices go down.

The cost depends on the exchange rate, at the moment the pound is very weak against the Euro, only about 1.24 e to the pound so things will be a little expensive but by July that can change.

It's a good destination, enjoy.

I stayed at the Hotel Fuerte a couple of years ago. There are many good bars and restaurants and is a 'proper' town - it used to be a fishing and iron ore export port, believe it or not, before the tourism industry took over.It has some beautiful old plazas such as the one with all the orange trees (Plaza de los Naranjos) which is surrounded by restaurants. There are also some good restaurants on the beach where you can eat grilled sea bass for example.
All around the town though there are loads of modern developments which I personally found depressing but which obviously have an appeal for some.
The weather in July will undoubtedly be superb. These days although Spain is still cheaper than the UK it is not by much and the days of 'dirt cheap' are long gone. This must be one of the most prosperous parts of the Spanish coast. I do not think I have seen so many Porsches, Bentleys and Lamborghins as at Puerto Banus where millionaire yachts line the harbour.

Its just the place to be seen, BUT expensive, but do try a walkabout around Puerto Banus, but watch out for those prices, the boats/cars are fantastic - the weather today is wonderful, clear blue skies, not too hot!
Don't judge the rest of the costa like Marbella, that place is very over blown and expensive, try other places up and down the costa, small eating places, tapas bars you can't go wrong, but keep away from the "typical english menu" type of places, you are on holiday follow the locals...........

Have a lovely trip!

The Old town & Orange Square is worth a visit. Very spanish; lots of bars, tapas & restaurants. Puerto Banus is a must. Lots of 'posers', excellent restaurants with prices to match !
Marbella is more expensive than most places and the decline of the pound against the euro doesn't help. Weather is generally good: this week about 24degC. Excellent shopping at 'Cortes Ingles'. Park your car (if any) in a car park, otherwise the bill will have it! Enjoy. Ed.

London NW3
Awful, english breakfasts, premier league football on TVs,british beer, and general tackiness everywhere,as only us brits can provide.Outside of Marbella is nicer (steer clear of porta buanus)Weather is sunny and pleasent, not cold in winter.

It got plenty to do and you can have a good day out in Gibraltar and get your tax free goods and see the apes, on a good day at the top of the rock see South Africa. Enjoy
Have another day trip to Juarez and go round Sandeymans sherry and get stoned bye the brandy it the best you can get and only sold there. Eat out food good plenty of good bars and cheap to.
