I want to go on a short city break for three nights. I can't make up my mind whether to go to Madrid or Barcelona? Please let me know which one you recommend. Also, what are the TOP FIVE things to see in both cities. Please help, I don't know which one to choose and I can ONLY CHOOSE ONE. |

i was in madrid last week and had a fab time. we went shopping, walked in retiro park, got a guided tour of las ventas - the bull fighting arena - there were no bullfights on while we were there and i dont think i would have went anyway. there are 3 museums too if you are into that, we didn't.
we will be going to barcelona the end of next month and i can tell you how we got on but you probably need a break before then. |

Barcelona is best by far.
The best thing to do is just walk about exploring the old part of town around the Cathedral.
Madrid is best for art galleries and museums, and the Retiro Park is nice on Sunday mornings, otherwise it is quite disappointing.. |

Barcelona! I visited both and would definitely tell you to go to barcelona. The city is beautiful and has the beach (it might be cold now) but it is definitely worth visiting. |

I went both in Sept and I like Barcelona more.
- visit Casa Batllo, Casa Mila & Sagrada Familia
- walk in La Rambla, Port Vell and La Barceloneta (beaches)
- To Montjuic and view the city, visit Museu Picasso or go to the museu F.C, Barcelona |

If you just want to party, go to barcelona.
if you want real spanish culture, go to madrid.
madrid has more and better museums, better food, more sights to see, like the royal palace and it is after all, the capital of spain. and, it is even a little bit cheaper than barcelona. |
