The Tank
Dunas Maspalomas is a large area of ancient sand dunes just south of Playa del Igles in Grand Canaria.
There are some great beaches and bars nearby. Sunset over the dunes is something not to be missed. "Golden" hardly describes it. If you're up early enough, the dawn is pretty good too.
Chase it down on Google Maps and have a look at the satellite view.
In the summer the dunes get very hot under your feet so sandals are advised. On the other hand (foot), if you wear sandals you'll get uncomfortable grit under your feet. Take your choice.
The dunes are very popular with nude sunbathers. If you're planning on going there for a bit of eye-candy then be aware that the resort hosts the biggest homosexual community in the Canary Islands. That may or may not be to your taste, but be careful where you step!

was there a couple of months ago, had a great time..not far from other areas only 3.50 in a taxi to playa Del Inglis,we were close to the faro 2 shopping centre give it a try we had some lovely meals there,and the people are lovely ..it is more laid back than some of the other places on the island and as always the weather is great....hope you have a good time .sure you will....
