Maybe Canary Islands in mid October |
Me and my friend are thinking where to go to in mid October. We want to weather to be hot so he came up with Gran Canaria.
So whats the best canary island out there? Also in mid October, what would the temprature be like during the day? Hotter than 25c ? Hotter than 30C ?
Also, does anyone know what Greece is like around that time of the year?

The Canary Islands will better for you. In Greece in October everything starts to shut down, expect it to be fairly quiet , Greece is not an all- year destination like the Canaries. Weather in Greece should still be 25c but expect a day of rain. Mosquitos can be a problem that time of year in Greece. I've been to both Gran Canaria and Tenerife, my choice would definitely be Gran Canaria. |

Depends what sort of thing your looking for, as which is nice, they are all very different. it will be 25+ deg. And Greece will still be very warm, but mid oct, most is closed. |

We have been to all the canary islands and gran canaria is definitely the best. Mid oct it will be about 24-25c, basically the canaries are this sort of temperature all year round, summer months a few degrees warmer. There is normally a cooling breeze, but the sun is very strong so be careful not to burn Stay in playa del inglis or maspolomas - the yumbo centre is an open to the weather shopping centre and provides fantastic restaurants and entertainment by night. Have fun! |

My husband and I went to Lanzarote, Canary Islands in March 2007. We LOVED it there. It is the most bizzare gorgeous island. Most of it is covered in volcanic rock and looks like mars but still has white sand beaches. We rented a car and drove the whole island. Visted one of the top surfing beaches, Famara. Caves, markets... We stayed at Holiday Village Sun Tropical Resort in Playa Blanca. Loved it and the town because they had tons of shops and restaurants/bars. Highly recommended!
As for temps im not sure, it was windy so cooler when we went. Im sure some of these websites will give averages.. |

A friend of mine used to live in Tenerife. You can see Gran Canaria from his house. I went and visited in December in 2005. At 9 pm it was about 25 degrees. Not baking....but pleasantly warm.
I've just come back from Majorca where they are having a heatwave....about 38. Too hot to do anything.
Sorry...don't know about Greece. Happy hols. |
