Move to Spain?
I'd like to move to Spain from Canada, how do I become an emigrant there, (I want to get my foot in the door there) I dont expect a materialistic life style there but a small apartment and sallary to cover basic living will do, I heard construction is booming there, are there jobs available for that,
I also speek 3 languages fluently English, Polish and Spanish,
Well i live in spain it depends where u wanna live. the construction "boom" doesnt affect canaric or balearic islands. in aragon or galicia states many shopping centers, buildings and even a Las vegas II (Gran Scala[aragon state]) r bein built thereand they need workers.

This is a bad time to move here as things are tough for everyone at the moment. Construction was booming until this year but is now in freefall. Thousands of construction workers are now unemployed and it will only get worse.
As for the answer that said there is no water for 3 months, that is not true, although it is a dry country , the water is virtually never cut off. I wouldn't advise you to come here now.
Things are difficult for everyone, so if I told you to come i wouldn't be doing you any favours at all. Sorry.

Contact the Spanish embassy!!!
Construction is going down, land prices did slit about 8 %!That you speak Spanish helps a lot. Sorry to say so, but first of all I thought another Brit wants to move here without speaking Spanish and expecting that everybody speaks English.

i live in spain have done for four years and i like it. But at the moment the construction industry is on its knees and there is no work there at all unless you have a special skill. Speaking spanish is a bonus but does not garantee you work as any jobs on offer go to spanish nationals they tend to look after there own. As for a materialistic live style you have to get used to constant power cuts,no water for three months a year, ect spain was basicley a third world country up untill resent years although its getting better now there is still a lot to be done on the infrastrucure.but on saying that the pace of live is slow and easy alright for me i am retired and have a pension but at the moment people who need to work to live especialy expats are leaving in there thousands. best you come and have a look but dont go to the holiday resorts go in lnland to real spain and find out for your self
