If you need to work, make sure you have a work visa BEFORE you leave.
If you are planning to stay longer than three months, then you need to get a long term visa.
Valencia? for some reason that doesn't trip my switch...but you might find it's the greatest! That new science city looks spectacular! You might wind up spending ALL your time there.
Be sure you make some time for the north...I still haven't spent much time there. |

Valencia is a good choice...
A lovely city, with plenty of interesting things to do. Also you are within a few hours driving distance of Barcelona going north, Madrid going inland and Alicante or Murcia going south. If you are there for several months there are plenty of places you could visit by car.
You have not specified if you will be working or just living in the area. What time you have to spend on traveling should depend on that...
However, in just a few months you will not be able to see the whole country...there are too many beautiful places and things to see!

Valencia is a wonderful city but you need to be more specific about what you want to do alot and see alot of.
Valencia has a fantastic vibe to it. It is a city by the sea without the tourist invasions of Barcelona. It is quite small though in comparison to Madrid or Barcelona so, depending on what you want to do, it may or may not be the right place for you. |
