I recommend you the following websites
Timeout Barcelona http://www.timeout.com/barcelona/
Virtuatourist http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Spain/Catalunya/Barcelona-274654/TravelGuide-Barcelona.html
Bear in mind that Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, that we have an own language, Catalan (co-official with Spanish) and that a lot of typical Spanish sterotypes (flamenco, bullfighting, sangria even Mexican sombreros) are fake for naive tourists. This is what you must avoid.
It's very easy to be caught by tourist-traps if you do not read about our history, traditions, etc. |

sight see sagrada failia, gaudi's house. Lots of places to eat so you won't be stuck for choices. Be warned it's an expensive city. |

I have been on a day trip to Barcelona and loved it :o) you must go to the gardens and the unfinished cathedral they are a must as are the dancing fountains on a night.
There is also the streets with the strret entertainers that is also great to watch. |

First of all, great choice -I 'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. With regards sights to see, then there are loads - Barcelona has 9 UNESCO World Heritage sites, and there are even some great places to visit apart from those.
For a good start, check out http://www.bcn-rentals.com/barcelona-guide which has been written by expats living in Barcelona and has some great tips.
you might also want to see http://www.barcelonasights.blogspot.com for some local knowledge.
Have fun! |
