Nice, romantic places in Madrid?

Where would you go to (in the centre of Madrid) with your girlfriend/boyfriend, to sit down, relax, talk? I read about the Opera Gardens, and the Templo de Debod. Are they worth going to? And where to go if it's raining? Other suggestions?
Planning to go there for a weekend beginning of April.

If the weather's nice, Parque de Buen Retiro is definitely number 1. The gardens below the Palcio Real are also nice. Plaza Mayor is romantic. In the rain, the museums come to mind (Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen-Bornemisza). And one of my favorites is a little church called Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida, which has some beautiful Goya frescoes.

Enjoy!

The Zoo, Botanic Gardens, Retiro Park, Plaza Mayor

Hmmm. If it's RAINING, I'd go to a Pub, or a nice Restaurant...The Prado? The Palacio de Cristal (I think it's also an art museum...it's in the park)

Hi,

I thought about this recently and although it doesn't cover every situation I came up with this:

http://www.madrid-guide-spain.com/romantic-madrid.html

If you discover a new place let me know!

The thing is that at the end of the day you make the moment... The place is just a backdrop!

Well the place are you talking about are so beatifull. You can go the park of Retiro or "EL Capricho" where the couple of new married go to making a photos. The Gardens of Palace are beatifull too.

The Retiro, especially on a Sunday morning.

If you are rich, the Sunday brunch at the Ritz is, well, Ritzy.
