Olive Oil in Spain...?

Which region of spain exports olive oil worldwide?

You'll find all you need to know about the Olive Oil industry (including for Spain) at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_oil . But nearly all Spanish regions which make olive oil export a percentage of it worldwide - or at least to those world regions which want it.

So-called "Italian olive oil" is comprised by a large percentage of Spanish olive oil so anyplace which sells Italian olive oil is also selling you, mixed within, Spanish olive oil.

Also take a look at http://www.oliveoilfromspain.com/OOFS/everything/regions.asp for a map and description of the regions which PRODUCE olive oil in Spain.

Best of luck and enjoy Spanish Olive Oil! I love the stuff. You can even more-or-less easily find it in many big supermarkets in the United States.

open google, and click maps.
now type in andalusia, hit return, now type in cuevas bajas. it's the village just down the road from my house.
if you turn the map picture to "satellite" and zoom in a bit you can see that the ground is covered in little dots. every dot is an olive tree.
now zoom out a bit.
they go for miles and miles and miles in every direction.

there is a press in our village. and the local olives are hojiblanca, which provide about 1/6th of andalusia's output.

Jaen, Andalucia mainly. We have many olive trees there which have been in the family for years, We don´t work them though we let others harvest them anbd share the crop and its oil in a cooperative.

I have added a link which may help you:

Andalucia above all Jaen

SUE
The region where all the olive trees are...think...Mediterranean, since Olives are a Mediterranean crop.
