When moving to another country it can be quite daunting no matter what age you are.
You have not said the reason for the move, whether it is to study or to be with family or other friends.
Whatever the reason I'm sure she will be fine. Spain is a very welcoming country, the people are lovely and a little understanding of the language goes a long way.
I moved here eight years ago and absolutely love it as I'm sure your friend will.
I live in Andalucia, slightly inland from the Costa Del Sol and if your friend needs any help or information on this area I will be happy to help. Just email me
Anna
PS forgot to mention, when your friend comes here just think you will have a great place to come on holiday to see her

Your friend is sooo lucky. I moved to Spain when I was 20 and have now lived in two other foreign countries, but nothing compares to Spain. I was a little nervous before I moved there, because I hadn't lived abroad before, but what she is going to experience is good weather, wonderful, friendly people, great food, exciting culture and open-mindedness. Tell her to relax and enjoy but that learning the language as fast as possible will make her stay much more enjoyable.

I think it´s normal that she´s nervous, she will be OK, here in Spain we love the people from other countries, we are open-minded... She´ll be fine, but she has to get a good job and a good house, she has to be careful with some cabbys, not all but some of them take the new people in a long ride so they can gain more money... It depends where she´s going to move, I suggest the center: Madrid or Castilla y León, because she is not gonna to learn a dialect like it happens in the North of Spain or in Catalonya, if you live there you "must" learn their "language", I suggest Madrid, here is everything!

She is still very young and of course she will nervous and that is a natural feeling to have. She will be fine as long as she looks after herself, keeps safe, and understands some of the language even the basics, just make sure she keeps in touch with friends and family over here.....
