i brought my cat home from tenerife 5 years ago, i had to wait for 6 months for the rabies blood tests,and for all the vacinations,the vet done most of the paper work for me, about 1 month before i left i had to go up to santa cruz to get the final documents stamped,

You should know the law here in Spain. Every dog and cat must have a passport, listing vaccinations, plus a microchip. You must have this to return to UK and also a blood test atleast 6 months before you leave Spain. Your vet will advise you on this and will provide the passport . If you live in Estepona I can put you on a my vet who does a wonderful job with my menagerie of muts and strays.

I got the passport for my cat by going to the vet and asking her. She wrote down all neccessary data and gave it to me in a moment.

Unfortunately the process takes about 7 months!
Animals have to be vaccinated and micro chipped. They then have to wait about 6 months after the rabies jab to have a blood test to check they have antibodies for it. This process takes a few weeks!
Only then will a passport be issued for them!
Alternatively they can be checked into quarantine for about the same amount of time but with more expense to you (and stress for them).
