This is a pretty hefty price you are going to pay for the convenience of using your mobile. You will need to see if you can have roaming, as the calls bounce from Uk to Spain and back so can be very expensive. Why not buy a phone card for 6€ when you arrive, you can get it in any paper shop or tobacconists, they have instruction for use and give you great talking time.
Leave your mobile for emergencies (lets hope you don't need it) or for the occasional text message. Price of texts depends on your provider (O2, Orange, Vodafone etc)
