i have been booking tickets to spain for a while now because my fiance is there. i would keep an eye on the gas. if the gas starts to increase dramatically like it did in 2008, i would purchase it soon. because from my experience the higher the price of gas, the higher the prices of tickets. i looked in sept 08 when the gas prices were around $3.80-4 a gallon...the average i found for a ticket was $1000. however now that the economy is down and the gas prices are dropping so are the ticket prices. i have been looking lately because i am returning to spain in feb and i am finding them around $500! www.sidestep.com

hope that helps.

It's always better to buy place tickets months before to get them at a cheaper price. If you wait to buy them a month before you leave they will be more expensive.

What you need to do is start studying the prices right now and compare prices once per week. If something seems cheaper than normal, book it immediately. I just found them for u. I would recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

The earlier the better is always a good call. Iberia begins having some good tickets for March as well since it's still a bit cool. It also depends on where in Spain you want to go. In the summer (I think) Iberian is going to begin service from NY to Valencia which beats flying to Madrid or Barcelona if that is not your destination.

Delta has had some good deals lately as well. The earlier you can plan your flight the better. I flew business class last June and saved over and incredible amount of money by buying in Febuary.

No one really knows. You may get a better deal nearer the time, but my way of thinking, if there is a good deal at the moment, then take it. If the airline concerned is having trouble selling seats, they may just consolidate another flight and cancel the other one. The prices may then go up.

I tried waiting, and wound up paying more. I'd suggest getting them, while the getting is good. Things could go either way, but I wouldn't bother wasting the time.

It depends on the airline. Some have promos from time to time but to be sure my suggestion is to book in advance. Is this your first time in Spain? If yes, then welcome!!
