Question for anyone who has visited/lives in barcelona...? |
my fiance and i are going to barcelona in september and we are staying in the very centre of the city, just off of the ramblas, and we would like to visit the port Aventura theme park. the only problem is that we will not be hiring a car and need to know how to get there by bus/train and failing that, how much a taxi from the city centre to the park would be??? thank you in advanced :) |

Hi! I usually go there by train, it's more confortable and you avoid traffic jams. Ok, follow these steps:
- Take a tube or taxi to Estació de Sants (Sants train station)
- There, you can buy the ticket either in the machine (Port Aventura destination) or in the normal way, from the man in the station. This train will go towards Salou, if I remember correctly, and you will get down soon after Tarragona's stop. It's actually a nice ride, because it goes almost in top of the sea when it's near Sitges, it's quite beautiful. When you get the ticket, make sure you also buy the return one. I think last train comes at aroun 9 PM, but it may be different in summer, make sure in order not to miss the last train.
I love Port Aventura, I try to go there once a year. Have fun! |

Dont worry, in the Ramblas you will find some travel agencies that sell bus tickets + tickets to Port Aventura, all together., From Barcelona to Tarragona, where the Park is, is around 1 hour and a half driving, so it will be to expensive, tooooo much. A lot of people from Barcelona prefer to take the bus so they dont need to drive and enjoy the day more. I hope this help you, Any questions let me know , I will answer. |

I just want to give a second vote to Gabi's answer. The train is much more relaxing and faster. Otherwise, I personally thought that a one day pass to the park was plenty to see and do everything. |

you can get on a tour bus, at the bottom and top of the ramblas, you can get a 1 or 2 day pass and see many attractions, including port aventura, there is loads to see. |
