whereabots are you staying, mcdonalds opposite beach is reasonable try robin hoods pub for great food and a lot of the pubs have happy hours, port aventura is very expensive, there are some british supermarkets that sell reasonable snacks sandwiches etc, if you tend to stick to the british places everything is a lot cheaper, some of the spanish pla ces are a rip off, hope you enjoy |

Kep away from all the Brit Bars and get into the Spanish areas. At lunchtimes (from 1.30 - 4pm) you can get a Menu del Dia almost anywhere in Sapin - 3 courses, plus a drink (round here they give you a bottle of wine and one of Las Caseras (soda) to make your own "tinto de verano", a delicious long drink, (and don't object if you have a second glass!), for about 7€ all-in. You can eat in a different place each day until you find the best choice, and learn a bit more about Sapin and the Spanish. Just look for signs saying "Hay Menu" or similar, or simply ask if they have one (¿Hay Menu?). The best places will be the ones with lots of cars, vans and lorries outside.
Learn a few words of Spanish and you will be made much more welcome than if you walk in talking loudly in rough English, with red skin from the sun, wearing tiny shorts and tattoos. |
