A lot of the shops that are present in the UK are present in Gibraltar, and a few of them are present in Spain also. Take Topshop for example, both are in Spain and Gibraltar and I was wondering which one would be cheaper to shop in?
I understand that Gibraltar is VAT free, does that actually translate to shops not charging 15% VAT, or in practice, do the shops still charge the same as if there was 15% VAT, but keep the money for themselves?

I don't know about Gibraltar now, when I went... in =/ 2004, it was very expensive beacuse the € had a bad exchange rate.
I know many of my friend's who live across in the French Border have taken the train to London to shop in the sales because it has become very cheap (almost 1€ to 1Pound)

There is a limit of what you can take into Spain from Gibraltar. It's 200€ in total. If you are staying in Spain you may like to go there, but you won't save much on 200€. It will cost you money just getting there.
