Should I take cash or just my credit card to Spain?

I am leaving this Sunday for Spain. Should I take cash or is it better to have my credit card?
What is the exchange rate Euro/US Dollar?

I would definitely take both. Usually I take both my ATM card and credit card. Most European cities have ATMs where you can withdrawl cash and there is always an ATM in the airport. Do make note though that you must have a 4 digit PIN number verses a 6 digit one. I have used my ATM card in London, Barcelona and Paris and never had any issues.

You should also call your bank and credit card company prior to traveling. Let them know what dates you will be out of the country and where you will be visiting. This will prevent your bank and credit card company from preventing any of your transactions, which they may suspect as fraudulent since they will be from another country. You may also want to ask them if they charge any service fees for using their cards in another country. I know my bank charges a 1-2% fee on any ATM transactions I make. I always chose to use my CapitalOne credit card because they do not charge any fees for out-of-country transactions.

As for the exchange rate:
1 EUR is equivalent to 1.31729 USD
-or-
1 USD is equivalent to 0.759129 EUR

Have a great time!

You can find the sxchange rate for yourself, you know, but it's about 1.36 or so/1€. That means you'll probably PAY $1.50 for a Euro.

And you get the best rate from a credit card that charges you the lowest fees. Mine run from 1% - 3%. Needless to say, I used the 1% for the entire trip. Use a CASH card, NOT your credit card to get cash while there, and bring about $100 - 200 in Euros for a snack and cab fare. Do NOT use the convenience ATMs at airports, because they rip you off.

Check with your bank as to fees for using foreign machines. I'm pretty sure mine didn't charge me at all. Soo, the 1 - 2€ fee from the home bank was all I paid.

Check the rate your credit card charges for foreign transactions. Check what ATM fee in Europe is. Avoid using credit card, most charge 3%. Do not bring cash use ATM. Maybe bring 50 Euro. Bring credit card for emergency or car rental. Don't carry both at the same time.

1 Euro / U.S. dollar = 1.3181
i think you should take both to be safe. but use cash

tentoes
Take both. Some places may not take a credit card (ie: a street vendor selling food or knic-nacks), or some places may charge a "fee" for using your credit card. You should be able to go into a bank and get cash.

The exchange can be found at www.xe.com.

Right now, on xe.com $1 USD = .756 euro
