Get yourself gone, don't think twice, this country is going down hill and fast. The gouv are trying to bleed everyone dry. If I had the chance and the money I would be outta here like a shot. Whats the worst that can happen? it could go pair shaped then you just hop on a plane and come back, nothing lost but if it all goes well then well done. Good luck if you decide to go. any room for a small one .LOL |

I think it's a bad time, internationally, and economically, to be making that sort of move. But that implies that you are from the US. The laws are different for different nationalities. |

If you don't particularly have any ties or commitments then why not if that's what you want to do? If you have friends there and think you could easily find a job then that's half the battle done.
It doesn't have to be forever. You could go for a year and see how you get on. You could always move back if things don't work out. |

I live in Spain and there are no jobs anywhere. Any jobs going will be given to the locals. Houses are cheap here right now, but the exchange rate is bad so you are no better off.
It's a great place to live, but there is a great deal more to moving than just coming out here. Once you are here for more than 183 days a year, you are technically residents. You should notify the inland revenue and the NHS before you come. Effectively you should then not be able to use the NHS in the UK. Many Brits fail to do that, but it is the law just the same.
People who move to Spain have to finance the move. If you have money then you have a chance, but if you have none, then forget the idea.
Life is difficult here right now for everyone. |
