Spanish Mobile Networks?

Hola, I'm going to Spain this summer and was thinking about buying a pay-as-you-go sim card (I think it's "tarjeta" in Spanish?)...the websites seem confusing so I wondered if anyone here could help

Do you know how much it costs to call other Spanish landlines/mobiles/sms and also to text England on any of the 3 Spanish mobile networks (movistar, vodafone or orange)?

Any info will be appreciated :)

I live in Spain and use vodafone, i think i paid about 20€ and i got 10€ of credit on it from Carrefour (large supermarket chain).

Texts to another vodafone is about 12c and to another net work like amena (orange) or movistar (telefonica) its about 17c and texts to the UK are about 1€+.
But you can change your tariff so you get cheaper calls or texts so it might be worth asking when you buy 1.

If you are going to be calling home i would advise you to buy a phone card and use a pay phone as these work out much cheaper.

I hope this helps you x

I recognize movistar and vodafone. There were shops for those EVERYWHERE!!! Orange I don't recognize.

I think they just call it a sim card in Spain, because I tried to buy one, but they wouldn't do it for me, since my phone was rented from Estonia. You have to go to the same company where you rented it from in the first place (which was a bit of a pain for me).

I paid about .69 cents a minute, I think, for my time.

I don't think there is any other way to get service THAN the sim cards.

Hola, yeah its tarjeta. I was with vodafone and there was a deal that you could get cheaper rates to call the UK. Not exactly cheap but is definately cheaper than using your UK sim. I bought my tarjeta for 25 euros and u get about 25 euros of calls with it.

When you're nearing the end of yourstay don't leave yourself too much 'talk-time' with the intention of using it on a later visit - in Spain after a short time of dis-use all talk-time is forfeited and the sim and its number disabled!
