Suitcase weight for flight to spain?

Check with your airline. They all vary. Don't be confused by the personal limit and the allowable weight per case. Most airlines the personal weight is 20k but if you were travelling with someone your combined personal weights would be 40k. Obviously common sense tells you not to carry 40k, but most airports will handle a case upto 32k. They will put a "heavy" tag on it with the weight so to advise baggage handlers. I had a family staying with me in Spain, they flew from Gatwick and returned to Gatwick. They had 2 suitcases right on the limit of 32k each.
My way of thinking it is more sensible to pack accordingly with other people in mind. If you need extra cases use them. These days you may charged for each suitcase depending on the airline, but flights to Europe are reasonable anyway.

jo jo
Usually 20kg, if with Easyjet, they are very strict so make sure you are 20 kg or under.

rose1
Easyjet is 20kilos, but Ryanair is a measly 15K. Not enough for 2 week holiday, trust me.
If you go over they will charge you:
1. for extra bag £4
2. £4 for every kilo over!!!!
A complete ripoff.
I have paid loads as I live in Spain but shop in the UK. I didn't mind before but now it is getting beyond a joke.
The other week there was a fella in front of me in the queue to board and he was holding a hardback book to read on the plane...........they had tried to call it EXCESS and tried to charge him for having more than 1 hand luggage!! Ridiculous. We should revert back to the old ways.

walkingditz
all depends what airline your flying with it should state your allowance on your ticket, if not just gove them a ring. I work for an airline and normally if your limit is 20 kilos than you can go a bit over and they won't charge but don't go more than 5 kilos over your limit. charge is normally about £5 per kilo your over. You can normally pay for extra baggage but remember NEVER go over 32 kilos, even if your the richest person in the world and are prepared to pay, health and safety regulations won't let the poor staff lift your case. If you need more than that then split it into 2 or 3 or 4 or however much you want to pay. Another tip if you are over your allowance and worried they may charge you - never check-in 1st or last!!! Enjoy, wherever you're going!!!

Generally 20 Kilos

Don't know what airline you're flying. I flew to Spain a few weeks ago on Iberia air. Their weight limit is 51 lbs. Now when I flew back my suitcase was WAAAAYYY over the limit but they didn't make me pay. I think because the flight wasn't full. I think it was 77 lbs. That's what happens when you visit a few different countries and you bring back 5 bottles of wine LOL.

DEPENDS ON COMPANY FLYING WITH BUT USUALLY FIFTEEN KG HOPE THIS HELPS!

Why don't you people say where you are flying from and with which airline?

The quick and easy answer is "if you have the above information (and only YOU do) go to the airline's website and it will tell you!!!"

Tom V
For most major airlines like northwest, spirit, delta ext. the weight limit for baggage to be placed under the aircraft is 50 lbs. per person. If thats not enough you can also bring a carry on bag.

Look into your ticket. There is a box with the baggage allowance. Normally it is 20 kg in economy and 30 kg in business. Ryan Air seems to have different limits.
In case you do´n´t have a paper ticket, look on the pages of the airline.

This varies from airline to airline - log into the airline company you are travelling with and they will show the limit for hold and hand baggage

JULIE S
Max per person in gererally 20kg but a case can weigh up to 25kg, although they are becomming strict with bag weights due to health and saftey of airline staff
