Taxis in Barcelona: How many individuals will taxi drivers allow in their cabs?

I have read that there can be surcharges for baggage; is there also extra charge for number of persons riding?

No the Max number is 4 in a saloon type car, however special taxi do exist that can take upto 8 people, but you have to booked well in advance.

4 peoples in a regular car and yes a surcharge can be applied for heavier baggage.
