Things to do in Oporto?

I am going to Oporto as part of a cruise and will only be there for one day. Can anybody recommend a good place to eat and some interesting things to see and do?

Here are some major attractions in Porto or 'Oporto'

1- 12th century cathedral or se. Huge cathedral founded in the 12th century but extensively altered in the 18th. Open from 9am to 12:30 and 2:30 to 7.

2- Igreja de Sao Francisco - Gothic church with a plain facade but tons of gold-leaf gilding inside. There is also a museum and catacombs below, which we found more fascinating than many guidebooks did.

3- Ponte de D. Luis, the city's emblematic iron bridge, built by a disciple of the famous Eiffel.

4- Don't miss the Ribeira do Porto, the cluster of buildings, smoky bars and seafood restaurants along the waterfront.

For some good restaurants:
Porto is a spectacular city, and a great place to eat. Imagine ordering a bottle of Dao wine, Portugal's celebrated red, in a little churrasqueira (barbeque chicken joint) and watching as the waitress carefully wipes the cobwebs off of a bottle of 1995 before serving it. Now guess the price of this wine. If you guessed less than 5 Euros, you are correct. The whole chicken meal with all the trimmings for two and an aged vintage wine came to 12.90 Euros, quite a bargain. But click the second link below if you'd like to read a review of a great restaurant in the Taylor Port Cellars.
