Trip to Barcelona???
I'm going on a weeknd trip to Barcelona with my gf, but i still haven't book the hotel.....any suggestions for good hotels?
I have stayed at a few different hotels, with varying budgets.
Hotel Universal is very nice - rooftop pool etc.
Hotel Auto Hogar is next door, good location and cheap and cheerful with a good breakfast
Hotel Gran Via near Placa Catalunya is also nice - cheapish with a hint of faded grandeur.

personally i wudnt recomend this place....was ther 4 a few days with my mum and our mates...and lets jsut say it wasnt the highest quality hotel ive ever stayed at.....
try sumwher else...and maybe closer 2 the centre =D

I too would recommend friendly rentals. We rented an apartment called The Goya Apartments which was ideally suited for getting around and very comfortable. I recommend the tourist bus - we paid 19 euros for two day pass and had the opportunity to see so much in the few days that we were there. You can simply get on and off where you like. As we live in Spain we weren´t too bothered about trying the local cuisine (although the odd tapas did go done well) but we used the Hard Rock Cafe which is very central and had chocolate brownies to die for!!! Hope you enjoy your vist. x

have a look at friendlyrentals.com they have apartments that are much better that hotels as you can do as you please, and fairly priced

Hotel Arts and Gran Marina are excellent. I have stayed in both. They are quite expensive though.
Also I would recommend considering holiday apartment rental as it can work out a lot cheaper and is still luxurious.
