;) ;) ;) Guess where I live !!

GORA NAFORROA ETA EUSKADI **,

o.k "typical" foods are not traditional foods anymore...

Pintxoak (tapas) are a traditional Basque food, Navarra is a Basque region =) So most foods, even the sea food from the French Basque, and Spanish Basque country are eaten.

For example Txipirones is a Basque food but eaten all around Spain now. –

Rice is more common in Southern Navarra, where rice is grown you’ll also see Paella style dishes.

La Rioja Wine is used to cook meats, the same as in French food, wine for meats.
My region is divided in two; some of it is in France! So traditional cooking is Basque, French and Spanish

Mamia is a "treat" (I think it is terrible!) imagine a Cheese Yogurt !! blä but it is VERY popular

-For drinks, and also to cook in Cider is also popular many apple tree's are here =]

As in much food from Spain, it has been peasant soups, and stews often with an egg added for protein.
A typical stew would be Basque Peppers, with tomato, lots of black pepper and some sea salt. With sausage from Pigs, -In Pamplona we have our own style of Chorizo- and chicken

But you’ve said popular. So if you’re coming here we have Two McDonald’s in the Region and 3 Burger Kings’. In Pamplona (and the surrounding Suburbs where I live) there are places to eat Romania food, we have many Romanian people here.
An Argentine Steak-House, I’ve heard Beef from Argentina is the best in the World?
Many “cafés” where you can get a Bocadillo/Sandwich.
There are also many “burger” places by the Universities in Pamplona.
Döner kebab shops are found in every major town, it is Turkish food.
Greek/Turkish Restaurant can be found in Pamplona also.

Here's a link that will give you some information.

There's a nice guy on Yahoo, Xabier from Navarra...maybe he might help more.

You could try searching the Ministry of Tourism site. I think they have the old brochure/maps up online, now...they always had a section on food, or you can contact the Ministry of Tourism...they'll send you one for free. Only good, of course, if you have that much time. Their phone numbers are on the website.

Hang on, though, I have a penpal who LIIVES there. Let me see if I can raise him.

btw...it´s comida típica. And, yeah...Xabier.

Oh! I had some of that Pamplona sausage last time I was in Spain. It sort of looks like a salami but it's soooooo nice!

Lots of stuff. Check out the tourism department of Navarra (see link below). The website also has more information (tourism related) on Navarra. Good luck!!!

When I visited, my friends there made me try the fabada and cidra. (fabada is like a bean stew with chorizo and cidra is an alcoholic cider they pour from a distance so that it foams a little.) Otherwise, what we ate was similar to the rest of Spain--potato omelets, tapas (Basque in origin), paella (originated in Valencia), gazpacho (from the South).
