Unaccompanied minor travelling to Spain...PLEASE HELP?

Ok. So my family lives in northern Spain, in Oviedo. I am 16 and I really want to go visit them. The thing is, I am not fully fluent in Spanish and my mother is concerned of me travelling alone. So, I looked on some airline websites about their Unaccompanied Minors policies. I would be flying to Madrid and then from Madrid to Oviedo airport (Oviedo airport does not fly internationally). Do any of the Unaccompanied Minors policies have rules for connecting flights abroad??

I really want to go. I am paying for everything myself so my mom has no problems with me going unless I am accompanied by airline staff making sure nothing happens to me.

Above, I provided American Airlines' Unaccompanied Minors Policy. Continental Airlines doesn't provide assistance for minors over the age of 15, so that's already a no.

THANKS!

If you fly on an airline that provides unaccompanied minor services to kids thru age 17, then you would have a flight attendant in charge of you all the way. Otherwise , you would fly as an adult and be on your own. Your transfer between planes would not be a problem if you are flying as an unattended minor...the flight attendant would get you to your next plane. Your mother would have to call the airline to make the arrangements and could ask questions at that time if needed.

Hi...I have no wish to offend, but you are 17, very literate, whilst you may not be fluent in Spanish you certainly have at the least basic Spanish, I really don't understand what the problem is.
Madrid airport is very manageable, all main signs are in English also, and don't forget you can always ask at Information if you are unsure about where to go to get your connecting flight. You can check your luggage through to Oviedo.
I do not think Airline Staff will accompany you and stay with you during the stopover period at your age.
I think it is important that your mother, whilst I have no doubt she has the best intentions, allows you to be the young adult that you are.

There is a reason why airlines don't provide assistance for unaccompanied minors at 17! They are considered young adults!

I hope you can convince your mother and I wish you the best of luck!
