I have lived in Madrid, now live in Valencia and have been to Barcelona many times. Valencia is an incredibly beautiful city and I love it here for living. However, as a tourist destination you can't go past Barcelona. There are not many things for tourists to see in Valencia, but Barcelona has many monuments, cathedrals, shopping, nightlife etc. Valencia has an excellent nightlife and the beach too. It just depends if you want to spend all your trip sightseeing and going to museums, or if you would like to spend some time chilling out, enjoying good food and drink in a beautiful environment. |

You would definaltely skip Madrid and go to Barcelona (the most amazing place in Spain) and Valencia an extraordinary city that has changed soooooo much but it's great. in Madrid the only nice thing to do is going to museums... El Prado is good... but that city wouldn't be my first choice! |

B A R C E L O N A, no doubt about it!
Barcelona is the coolest city in Spain (in Europe I would dare to say!), very beautiful, cosmopolitan, european and mediterranean at the same time, nice weather, historic and modern, very touristic, bigger in size and greater in spirit than Valencia.
In my opinion is even better than Madrid! |

I went to Barcelona last October. I was there for a weekend and had a blast! I booked a hostel that's known for its party atmosphere and it just so happen to be in a great location...like kinda near the Mediterranean. So, Friday night, I went to a few bars and then went to the Bagdad Club. That's where they have the world famous live sex show. It was really good quality to say it's €90 a pop. Saturday night, I went out to some gay bars and got drunk. Good times :-)

Yeah you definitely should go to Barcelona. Valencia is cool, but it's probably the most fun during Las Fallas and that's only one time a year in March, so I would definitely choose Barcelona. And when you go... be sure to set aside like 3 days to see the whole city cuz it's HUGE!!! |
