There is a company called Animal Airlines that fly animals from Manchester, and also another company called Trans Fur who we used to bring our 4 dogs across.
You have to have all the papers from DEFRA to export your animal and it has to have had all its vaccinations etc. Check the DEFRA website.
You can arrange the flights yourself, depending on the size of the dog and the crate it is in, it has to meet specific standards.

If your dog is a service animal (i.e., for the blind or even if you can prove emotional support), any airline can transport you. However, for a fee, a lot of airlines will let you take your dog with you regardless of whether he's a service animal or not, as long as he's in an approved kennel/carrier. Call airlines ahead of time to find out policies and prices. Good luck!

I travelled right across Europe with my dog.The people to contact are definately D.E.F.R.A.if you ring they will post all the gen.If you travel on same plane as dog most airlines who carry dogs treat them as excess baggage and charge accordingly if you dont travel with animal it becomes airfreight and you need to check customs regs with receiving country.

Before you do anything consult your local vet, s/he will advise you of the travel procedures and what injections etc your dog will need.
When booking your flight I would suggest you go through a travel agent as they will get the best deals for you and your dog.
You will need to purchase a pet carrier for the journey.
If you think you might have to sedate your dog please be careful as airlines will not take overly sedated animals.
