In Northern Spain in the mountains they have Spanish brown bears. Some are known as Cantabrian brown bears or Galicia brown bears. They have reintroduced wolves into Spain. Where I live we have grey foxes and lynx. Also in this area in southern Spain we have Spanish Ibex. The problem in Spain for animals is hunting. Some hunters will shoot anything that moves. |

The most well know is the Cerdo Iberico or Pata Negra (iberian black legged pig grown for the best ham you'll ever eat). Also the JabalĂ (wild boar), the iberian mountain goat
Lince Ibérico (iberian lynx) which is a menaced species.
The "Quebrantahuesos" which is a variety of Osprey.
Certain deer
The Chameleon (also a menaced species).
The Oso Pardo del Cantábrico (iberian brown bear).
The wolf which has been reintroduced into the mountain areas, as has the fox.
Storks (both white and black winged).
Certain other varieties of birds such as eagles, hawks, herons and many small migratory birds.
Then there are also different types of livestock: cows, sheep, goats, and even buffalos (these have been imported to get milk for making mozzarella) |

The Spanish ibex , Iberian pig (for jamon serrano), there may be some monk seals left, lynx, and the desman.
There are also, altough not mainly in Spain, a few bears (It´s your turn to take out the rubbish!) and some wolves. mongoose, genet, barbary apes in Gibraltar, wild boar and chamois.
