What are the most lesbian-friendly parts of Spain?

My long-term goal has always been to move to Spain and live and work there. However, I have heard that some places in Spain are rather homophobic (much like certain places in any country). I wanted to know where are the most gay and lesbian-friendly parts of the country? I know that cities in general are usually more tolerant, but which areas in particular?
Additional Details
BarcelonaMan - I am English, and my level of Spanish is good, but I am going to university next year to study Spanish and Russian. I'm hoping to go into freelance translation and interpreting, which of course is an international business, so salaries are varied, and also teaching English, Spanish and Russian as secondary languages.
Besides, trust me, right now anywhere is better than England socially speaking. And everywhere in the world is having these problems of economy and influx, so I may as well live somewhere I love and be poor, than live somewhere I loathe and be destitute.

Your first objective should not be WHERE to live but HOW you can live in Spain. What's your nationality? That's very important. If you're non-European it'll be very VERY difficult until you have highly specialized skills and IF you speak Spanish very well. And HOW to make a living will be the next high-hurdle. Spain is notorious for it's VERY low salaries.

Spain is a VERY Gay-Friendly country, even in the small towns - although they are generally more conservative but they are certainly not anti-gay nor homophobic.

The cities, as mentioned, are the best places to based yourselves. Madrid comes to my mind immediately mainly due to its high concentration of gays, particularly in the "Gay Neighborhood" of Chueca - a very very cool place, stylish and fashionable bars and clubs and clothing stores too. I LOVE this neighborhood and I'm not gay! It's just that cool.

If you speak/read some Spanish, http://www.chueca.com/ can truly enlighten you. "El Portal Gay y Lesbico". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chueca will be informative too.

Saludos, MadridMan/BarcelonaMan @ you-know-where!

Apparently Barcelona, as I look at the amount of gay-friendly rentals there:

Also Valencia:

Also, Spain legalized gay marriage in 2005, angering the church but apparently pleasing the populace. More info:

Barcelona is very gay friendly.

Me
Barcelona is the only place that comes to mind. I don't know why you would want to live here though..there are no jobs, real exspensive and asylum seekers are flooding the country and the number of kids they have they will probably be the majority and force Islam on everyone.
