What are the pro sides for bullfighting?

Like the majority of you probably are, I'm against bullfighting and I think it is animal cruelty at its worst. However, I'm doing a paper on the controversy on bullfighting, and it is MUCH easier to find the cons than the pros, as one would imagine. So if anyone can think of an argument in favor of bullfighting that isn't "tradition", it would be much appreciated.

Well, like everything at the moment, it provides work for those that work within the sport. There are many people involved, right from the people that help rear them to the individuals that work in the stadiums.
As Jane points out, there is much more to bullfighting than just cruelty. There is much that goes on with any sport that includes animals. It really depends on how you define cruelty.

pageantry, bravery, tradition.

The people who love it LOVE it!

They are as into watching and betting on the corridas as Americans are into betting on football games...as into the toreadores as people in most countries are about their fútbol players!

You say that it's a blood sport... then talk about Boxing also..

People like the adrenaline

Money, stress relief?, and you could argue that it's not a big deal and down grade it a lil.
