Although its Salsa, does not originate from Spain and not modern, you must download Hector Levoe's song Aguanile!!
I always check out what is going on MTV. Just google MTV spain and click on the translate to English.

let me say that none of the other answers reflect a modern spanish music scene.look for a group called AMARAL.for me they are at the moment the best to listen to.good music,good songs.and if you understand a bit of spanish the songs mean something.check out AMARAL with MOBY,its brill, you could also try PEREZA,more rock and roll,stones influences all over but good for a listen.if you want pop stuff you could also try EL CANTO DEL LOCO,teen type band but can be fun.
older stuff worth listening too,LOS SECRETOS,DUNCAN DHU,ANTONIO VEGA.try these out,its all good stuff. |

You can't go wrong with anything by Juanes...my favorite songs of his are "No Siento Penas", "No Creo En El Jamas", and "Sueños"
Bacilos is also very good if you like Regae, and Justo Lamas is good if you're just starting to learn Spanish.
All are very modern....Justo actually has a few remixes of older songs such as "De Colores" and "La Bamba" |
