Benidorm has nice beaches but they are usualy packed and have a lotof touristy areas... There are alot of tall buildings and that is more or less what you can see for miles...
Then there is Ibiza, it's gorgeous and warmer, because they have a lot of coves that trap the sun and keep the water really warm, but if you went there I'd watch out for jellyfish, my dad was stung 3 times in a week there!!!!
I'd say you should go to Formentera, it is absolutely beautiful. The water is crystal clear and really warm, and you get fish swimming around in the water, and you can SEE them! Also no-one got stung when we went there so it was great. It's nicknamed The Spanish Caribbean (El Caribe Espanol) because its well known for it's white sandy beaches and palm trees.
Also, out of all the places in Spain I've been, they have the nicest people. Probably because they live in paradise, mind you!!!
Hope I've helped :)

Why don't you try Los Caños de la Meca it isn't your typical spanish tourist spot. It's well known to the spanish themselves & also seen as a bit of a surfers paradise. You get all sorts there from the surfers to the well to do spanish. Many young people go there to camp out on the beach or at the camping site there. It's a bit out of the way so you don't have all the mod cons of the Costa del Sol / Luz but that's part of it's charm.
A lot of spanish who go there normally own something there so there aren't too many hotels to choose from. You probably need to hire a car and it might be considered a bit basic for your normal tourist but the beaches make up for that. Plus your close to Barbate & Tarifa.

Also think about the Costa Del Luz. Check out Rota in Cadiz and look up the Hotel Playa de la Luz there. You might be surprised. You fly to Jerez to get there.

There are more some more hotels in Rota, Chipiona,Conil & Chiclana, all have a lively night life!

Puerto Santa Maria has some lovely hotels so do check it out before you dismiss it.
You should check out hotels in Tarifa,Caños de la Meca and Barbate for any special offers.

Most of the beach areas in the Mediterranean have clear blue waters. You can actually see the fish swimming around whilst standing on the dock. It's beautiful. Cala D'or in Majorca has some very picturesque coves with small beaches. They are great for snorkeling and of course sun bathing but can be busy during the summer months.

Majorca has the finest sand but most of Spain except the Costa Brava has nice soft sand.

wet26
The water is blue, but the sand is mostly yellow or brownish.

Try the Costa Blanca (White Coast) - Alicante.
