You will need to speak to a Gestoria in Spain. This is a lawyer/accountant and he will advise you of how to set up your own business. You will find it difficult and maybe you will only work for english speaking people on private arrangements. There is a very limited issue of licences, mainly going to spanish people. |

I'm afraid this is not an easy question. The taxi licenses are given out very sparingly in Spain. Some people wait for years to get one.
To start with, you would definitely need
a) A valid spanish drivers license.
b) taxi license
c) car adapted to the taxi requisites.
I'm not sure but I think taxi drivers need a special test for the drivers license.
Your best bet would be to go to a Gestoria in the town in Spain you wish to live / work in, and ask them all the requisites, they will probably be able to simplify the paperwork for you.
You would also need a very good level of spanish!

There is a long waiting list to become a licenced Taxi on the costas.
You should see your local ayentamento (town hall) and they will help. Your Gestoria will give you some information.
Not sure on the regulations for the car, but all taxis in Spain seem to be brand new quality cars. You will also need special insurance. |
