My sister in law's family is from a tiny village in Valencia. When we visit them, on Sundays her mother prepares a huge paella for the whole family. As it is an inland village, this is a meat paella with chicken, rabbit, green beans and butter beans.

Valencia is famous for it's paellas - but you can get a whole lot of other mediterranean/spanish food there as well.

Paella with seafood, meat or mixed, chicken, pork, merluza, salmon, octopus, pasta, mussels, clams, peppers and always a salad, lentils, bean stews with chorizo.

Food. Mostly, pretty much the same food they eat anywhere else along the Mediterranean coast of Spain...in fact, because really, the coast is really close to everywhere in Spain...what they eat ANYWHERE in Spain. Seafood is a big part of their diet there.

If you want to know what sorts of dishes make up a complete meal in Spain (and it's pretty much the same anywhere in Spain) it's usually a first plate of some sort of soup/rice/macaroni/pasta dish and a second plate of a protein...a meat or eggs and a side, which is ordinarily some sort of potatoes, or can be salad.

Most tipical dish is "paella" but any kind of rice is very common.
Also seafood is very appreciated.

Valencia is an impressing city to visit, not only food but also friendship and arquitecture.
